2pm - 4:30pm

Because of the phenomenal success of TeachMeet over the last few years, we thought we'd take the model and apply it to impact on the children we teach. As teachers, we are already shaping the learning to be reflective, affording children opportunities to speak, inform decisions, shape their learning or present in front of their peers.

At KidsMeet Blackpool, we are looking for learners to do the talking. To share the things that have made a difference to them, to talk through projects that have inspired them or to recount a moment that changed their approach to learning.

We're looking for 12 schools to present. We'll split into two sessions with 6 groups per session, repeating their presentation. This will allow all the presenters and groups to speak. We'll be giving each school a route plan so that they can go and see different things, plus there'll be other adults around who will be able to add some of yours in to their group if required.

We're really pleased to announce that the event will be compered by Bill Lord

Bill Lord is a blogger and tweeter who currently works for CfBT Lincolnshire supporting a range of schools. He loves collecting picture books especially pop ups and graphic novels. He tries to write a book review whenever he can on his blog www.abookaday.posterous.com. He has a background in leading action research projects including the work presented on Twitter by @giraffeclass (a Year One class who tweet everyday) and was co-author of the UKLA publication "I Know What to Write Now!" Engaging Boys (and Girls) through a Multimodal Approach.

Bill’s specialisation lies in motivating and supporting young learners through the innovative use of ICT. He is an engaging speaker and has spoken at a wide range of conferences. In his spare time he is one of the lowest ranked Veteran Hammer and Discus throwers in Lincolnshire.
