DLnetwork KidsMeet

Page history last edited by Andrew Kilgour 8 years, 8 months ago

We are inviting groups of Digital Leaders to meet at the Wayra UK technology academy and take part in a special Night Zookeeper themed event. Children will start the day by learning about the Night Zookeeper. This will include creative brainstorming tasks to really stimulate their imaginations. They will then move on to take part in workshops that will include everything from creating vegetable animals to discovering how a MaKey MaKey works.

Children will learn valuable skills throughout the day, including social and communication skills as they work in teams with students they meet on the day. They will also hear from a number of technology entrepreneurs and learn how they began programming. Students will find out how they can join coding communities such as Young Rewired State.

We would like to invite 8 schools to bring along 4 representatives supervised by at least one adult. A total of 32 children and 8 teachers plus any accompanying adults that would like to attend.

The event will be held on Friday 23rd November 2012 at the Night Zookeeper office.
